They also benefit from unparalleled success factors such as a rich heritage and resourceful human capital. Last year, the President of the French Republic declared a colossal investment of around 5 billion into the French startups in a quest to grow more billion-euro startups. The La French Tech initiative introduced by the French government in 2013 brings together all those who contribute to the advancements and reach of startups, including investors, engineers, developers, students, associations, policy markets, and community builders. Its underlying mission is to assist French startups abroad and attract foreign entrepreneurs or talents in France. In France, startups have access to several subsidies and different forms of help, courtesy of either the government or private investors. Prominent tax advantages such as a temporary tax exemption on profit can be life-saving for a young business willing to expand. France has all the right assets in place to attract, develop and escalate startup and scale-up businesses, whether originating from or landing in the country. The government, investors and the general ecosystem all coordinate to offer these businesses the prime conditions for their international success. Besides, regional and local authorities also consider innovation as a critical driver for development and local economic growth.
